Gujarat wins Vijay Hazare Trophy 2015

Gujarat wins their maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy on Monday. Patel powered Gujarat to 273 for nine before their medium pacers R P Singh and Jasprit Bumrah brought the star-studded Delhi batting to its knees, dismissing the 2012-13 winners for 134 in 32.3 overs. Things just fell in place beautifully for Gujarat from the start in the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Gautam Gambhir won the toss and elected to bowl on a pitch that offered little assistance to the bowlers.
Chasing a 274-run target, Delhi began horrifically, losing four wickets in 11th over with India discard RP Singh claiming all of them. In the very first delivery of Delhi innings, Singh removed Rishabh Pant whose stumps were knocked down by a swinging delivery. Singh in his third over sent back Dhawan. Delhi were precariously perched at 65 for six requiring 209 runs from 30 overs, an improbable task with tailenders around. There was a glimmer of hope as long as Unmukt Chand was in the middle but that was also dashed with his dismissal in the 17th over, leaving Delhi derailed at 59 for five.Off-spinner Pawan Negi delayed the inevitable with a fighting 57 off 47 balls.

PM inaugurates National Conference of Dalit Entrepreneurs

Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today inaugurated the National Conference of Dalit Entrepreneurs at Vigyan Bhawan, organized by the Dalit Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister recalled one of his "Mann Ki Baat" programmes, where he had exhorted people to talk not just about their rights, but also about their duties. The Prime Minister said that this gathering of Dalit Entrepreneurs is one which has not just talked about their duties, but has successfully fulfilled duties. Paying tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the Prime Minister said that while Dr. Ambedkar is widely hailed as the architect of our Constitution, he was also a great economist. He spoke of Dr. Ambedkar's vision of industrialization in India, saying that Dalits, who had no land of their own, could only progress through industrialization.
The Prime Minister said financial inclusion is at the core of the Union Government's focus, which is to create job-creators, not job-seekers. In this context, he mentioned the loans being given under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana. He also mentioned the Venture Capital Fund for First Generation Entrepreneurs. The Prime Minister assured the Dalit Entrepreneurs that the Government is working for their benefit. He said the successes of the members of the gathering today, could inspire anyone who faces adversity. The Prime Minister presented five business excellence awards to Dalit entrepreneurs.
