French Open 2015 Women Winner - Serena Williams

Serena Williams won her 20th Grand Slam title and third French Open crown at Roland Garros on Saturday, clawing her way back from a break down in the last set to defeat Lucie Safarova 6-3, 6-7 (2/7), 6-2. After double-faulting away a two-break lead in the second set, then starting poorly in the third, the No. 1-seeded Williams took the last six games and added to her championships on the red clay of Roland Garros in 2002 and 2013. Those go alongside six each from the U.S. Open and Australian Open, and five from Wimbledon.
Williams now has 20 Grand Slam singles titles, two fewer than Steffi Graf, who holds the Open-era record of 22. She has won 12 of those Grand Slam finals in straight sets. For her career, Williams now has a 240-7 record in Grand Slam matches after winning the first set. Williams also won the Australian Open in January. Jennifer Capriati was the last woman to win the first two major tournaments of the year, back in 2001. Williams is now 20-4 in Grand Slam finals. Safarova, 28, was playing in her first Grand Slam final. The victory keeps Williams in the hunt for a single-season Grand Slam.
