His fitness has been a revelation over the past few seasons, something that keeps him in the game until the last second. The medal is Bajrang's second in Asian Games history, after having clinched silver in the 2014 edition. However, India’s first medal in these games came in the form of a bronze medal that was won in mixed team rifle event (shooting) by Apurvi Chandela and Ravi Kumar.
