Dalveer Bhandari re-elected Judge at International Court of Justice (ICJ)

India's nominee to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) Dalveer Bhandari on 20th November  re-elected to the fifth and the last seat of the world court after Britain withdrew its candidate from the election. Mr. Bhandari received 183-193 votes in the General Assembly and secured all the 15 votes in the Security Council after separate and simultaneous elections were held at the UN headquarters in New York.
The elections were held after United Kingdom, in a dramatic turn of events, withdrew out of the race for the Hague-based ICJ, thus paving the way for Mr. Bhandari's re-election to the prestigious world court. International Court of Justice (ICJ) Headquarters is situated at The Hague, Netherlands.

Tencent becomes first asian firm valued over $500 Billion

Tencent has become the first Chinese company to be valued at more than $500 billion in Asia. Shares of the 19-year-old company, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, rallied to reach HK $418.80 to give it a market cap of HK$3.99 trillion which takes past the $500 billion mark. Alibaba is Asia’s second-highest-valued firm at $474 billion. 
Tencent has market cap of more than $500 billion in Asia while Alibaba Group stands second with a Market Cap of approx $481. Apple is world largest company with market cap of $872 billion.

Manushi Chillar wins Miss World 2017 title

India's Manushi Chhillar has wins Miss World 2017 crown at a grand event in China, bringing to an end the country's dry spell of 17 years at the top pageant contest. The first and the second runners-up were Miss England Stephanie Hill and Miss Mexico, Andrea Meza.  The 20-year-old from Haryana, who is a medical student, edged out top five contestants from England, France, Kenya and Mexico. Chhillar was presented the crown by Stephanie Del Valle, the last year's Miss World winner from Puerto Rico at the event in Sanya City Arena in China which was televised live globally.
Chhillar competed against 108 contestants from various countries at a glittering event held at Sanya City Arena in China. Chhillar made it to the top five spots in the pageant along with England, France, Kenya and Mexico. India's Manushi Chhillar was crowned the coveted Miss World 2017 almost 16 years after Priyanka Chopra won the title in 2000.
