Indian Archers excels-won all 10 Gold Medals

Indian Archery team won all the five gold medals in the recurve event at 12th South Asian Games in Shillong today. India also begs two silver medals in individual categories of Men and Women.  The Women’s team comprising Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi and Laxmirani Majhi defeated the Sri Lankan trio Dilhara Salgado, Anuradha Karunaratne and Suchini Ubeysiri, without losing a set by 6-0.While, the Men archers team of India consisting of Jayanta Talukdar, Tarundeep Rai and Gurucharan Besra beat Sri Lankan team comprising Nipuna Senevirathne, Indranath, Sajeev De Silva by 5-1. 
In the Mixed Recurve category, Indian pair of Tarundeep Rai and Deepika Kumari routed the Sri Lankan duo Dilhara Salgado, Nipuna Senevirathne by 6-0.In the Men's Individual Recurve event final, Tarundeep Rai won gold while his Indian opponent Gurucharan Besra won silver.In the Women’s category; Deepika won gold and silver went to her teammate Bombayla Devi.In the Recurve Individual Men and Women event Nepalese Prem Prasad Pun and Bhutanese Karma won the Bronze. Recurve Mixed Team Bhutanese player Karma and Jigme Norbu won Bronze.Bhutanese women team Karma, Sonam Deki, Sonam Dema and Men’s Jigme Norbu, Kinly Tshering, Nima Wangdi won Bronze in the Recurve Women and Men Team Event.  All in all, India walked away with the most medals with 10 Gold and 4 Silver Medals, as Bangladesh got 3 Silver and 3 Bronze Medals and placed in second position. Bhutan positioned 3rd with a total of 5 Medals, 1 Silver and 4 Bronze, while Sri Lanka got only 2 Silver Medals, Nepal had to content with only 1 Bronze Medal.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana completes 10 lakh enrollments

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) completes 10 lakh enrollments under Skill India, 70% have completed their skill training since its launch.  Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh reflect maximum enrollments 
The scheme has been implemented across all 29 states and 6 union territories of the country, and covered 596 districts and 531 constituencies.  It addresses the requirement for skill development across 29 sectors in which around 566 job roles have been identified for courses in which the youth can enroll and can get trained.  These courses help in making them more employable with hands on experience on skills that will make them more employable and also more efficient in their work. 

Bidyalaxmi Tourangbam wins first Gold for India in South Asian Games 2016

India opened its account with Gold that too by women. Indian woman cyclist claimed the first Gold medal in the 30m Individual Time Trial cycling event. Bidyalaxmi Tourangbam claimed the first Gold for the country by winning the cycling race. The 2nd place also went to the Indian eve, Chaoba Devi winning Silver. Pakistans’s Sabiha Bibi got Bronze in the event. The cycling event was held at the Lakshmi Bai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), Guwahati.
In the Men’s cycling 40 Km event, Arvind Panwar won the Gold. Manjeet Singh won silver while Sri Lankan , Janaka Hemantha Kumara Gonagalage won the Bronze medal. In Men’s Swimming 200 mt Freestyle event, Md. Mahfizur Rahman of Bangladesh won the Gold. Srilankan Matthew Abeysinghe won the Silver while Saurav Sangvekar won the Bronze medal
